The purpose of this latrine and tent is to withstand the harsh conditions similar to those that would be encountered in 'refugee camp environments'. The latrine itself is made out of a plastic (polypropylene), instead of wood that they would normally use, (Latrine). The reason for  this is that the wood becomes sparse in the refugee camp areas. This is due to their need for it for fuel, to build the fires they need to keep themselves and their families warm.
